The club is run by members for members. This is a list of official roles within the club, which are all filled by volunteers. Some roles can be shared, depending on the role it might be suited to just 2 people sharing (for example, chairperson) whilst other roles would be suitable for at least 2 or more people (for example, events co-ordinator).

Some of these are "committee roles". These are roles which are usually present at committee meetings - for example the chairperson, secretary, and treasurer. Committee meetings are held every 6 weeks, and there is an Annual General Meeting held every April. However we don’t expect everyone who has a role within the club to be on the committee.

Roles are typically held for a year, and are changed at the AGM, however people have been known to switch at other times, especially non-committee roles. There is a lot to do and we are always on the lookout for people, so if you are interested in any of these roles and would like to discuss further please contact the chairperson at chair@edinburghtwins.co.uk.

Responsible for making sure that the club is working towards its aims of supporting and celebrating multiple birth families in Edinburgh and the Lothians. Maintaining and establishing our contact with the local hospitals, and health centres. Ensuring the club complies with the Constitution. Attending committee meetings (held every six weeks), preparing agendas and bringing along copies of minutes. Recruiting club members both on and off the committee into helping out at events. Instrumental in the organisation of the annual Summer Fair and Christmas party.

The vice-chair role is a supportive role to the chair with the view of moving into the chair position in the future (if majority committee vote and that person still wishes to become chair!).  The role can be developed to suit the individual and you would be working closely with the chairperson (or people).
